Jim was born and raised on a cattle ranch in South Central Alaska, and grew up on 1500 acres of pure inspiration as he roamed the hills, valleys, streams, fields and forests that he called home. He has a unique and diverse background in both Business and the Arts (which he’s been involved in his entire life). A musician, song-writer, Actor, Vocal Coach, Director, Producer and Choreographer, Jim is a 1987 graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and has a Business Management Degree from Alaska Pacific University.
In 1991, after getting married and moving to Arizona, Jim entered the corporate world and worked in the International Transportation and Logistics industry for the next 24 years, traveling the world and working with Fortune 500 companies to move their goods more smoothly between international borders. During that time, he made many strategic business contacts, and has had extensive experience in Marketing, Sales, Project Management, International Negotiations, Strategic Planning and Corporate Compliance. He is also a Motivational Public Speaker for regional businesses, colleges, State and City Youth programs and civic organizations.
Jim choose to be a Soil to Soul member because he feels the world is in need of greater leadership through creative inspiration and awareness. He sees our youth growing up today with less interaction and appreciation for nature; but with a drive and passion to find value in their lives. He was fortunate to grow up surrounded by nature and wants toshare that understanding and appreciation in a way that will inspire not only adults; but future generations to respect our natural resources and where they come from. He’s also fortunate to have been deeply involved in corporate growth and development and wants to take that knowledge and understanding, and combine it with a Love of the Arts and our Planet; and really make significant changes in society’s approach to artistic development and global leadership. He currently lives in Aiken, South Carolina with his wife Jodi where he is working on launching the first phase of a Global Arts and Leadership Alliance in 2018, while serving on the Board of Trustees for the Southern City Film Festival, as well as being involved in multiple strategic Arts-Development projects.
