I break from writing and walk to the edge of the cliff where the sea meets the shore. The glistening sun like a beacon of light bounces off the ocean swells. I breathe in the pure plentiful Prana. The roar of the sea calms the nerves and nearly stills the active mind. Nature is always regenerating reminding us of the virtues of recovery, and resilience.

I make the choice to clear my mind, to be with Nature. at least twice a day.

In touch with Nature, I am grounded. My inner thoughts are soulfully in harmony, and my will is to bring the best forward. I give myself permission to unload cumbersome baggage that attempts to anchor me. In a state of honesty, we are free, liberated; there is clarity.

The world’s most challenging problems can be solved when there is clarity.

Business, education, religion, and politics, heavily affect humanity and the environment. Unfortunately, clarity is muddled in all these areas. The good news is there are innovator people actively engaged. They are producing products and services designed to interconnect and nurture life. In every sector, there are tremendous opportunities for growth to awaken solutions that will have a positive effect on the present and future generations. As the late transcendentalist Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Build therefore your own world.”

We must co-exist if the human species is to exist.

Imagine if all development was designed with integrity and focused on ecosystem innovation rather than purely profits. And If communities mandates were in place to protect the overall health of its people and habitats? What would happen if we were required to build energy-efficient homes using localized renewable energy sources? How about towns, villages and cities created with peaceful parks, community gardens, carbon sequestering forests, and green belts; practical transportation systems and a bounty of biking and walking trails?

Imagine if communities focused on conservation and responsible agricultural development to nourish the people and the land. What if farmers and businesses that produce sustainable products and services got subsidized rather than industrial factory farms and large corrupt corporations?

What if your hard earned tax dollars went to an education system that taught the masses how to be healthy productive citizens verses, consumers. And funds were allocated to preventative health care; land, air, and water management that assured everybody accessibility to Nature and healthy food? Why not give homeowners and businesses tax credits for energy reduction, to plant edible~medicinal gardens, dump less trash, and to drive less? And tax incentives to business’s that stimulating a local economy of “green businesses.” I would have no problem paying more taxes. Does this label me a socialist? Can our society get beyond labeling, judging and competing? Is it possible to shift our values?

When big businesses come into a community and take over small businesses, it can be like an invasive species introduced into one of Nature’s perfectly designed diversified ecosystems. It can break down functioning systems offsetting the balance and creates havoc.

According to the United Nations, 54 percent of the world’s population currently live in urban environments, a number expected to increase to 66 percent by 2050. The UN report says: “In a rapidly urbanizing world, the way in which cities are planned, built, operated, and redefined has an enormous social, environmental, and economic impact.”

The opportunities are endless to stimulate economic growth when we start to redesign systems and cycles, products and services as if the future matters.

The good news is Nature’s communities can restore, as can communities worldwide when diversity and solutions get added back.
